Production Part Approval Process with PPAP

The situation:
A customer developing a new product needed a specialist with international experience to supervise the entire PPAP (Production Parts Approval Process) for an American OEM. His goal was to achieve the release on schedule and to ensure the fulfilment of all requirements.

The solution:
During the project our consultant coordinated all actions needed to attain the first samples. One of the most important aspects was to understand the customer’s requirements correctly, recognise unclear points early on and clarify them with the customer – particularly with regard to changes during the development. The collaboration with the suppliers and the coordination of the 18 customer-specific requirements for the release of serial parts was an equally important part of the work.

The result:
Our specialist, who had a great deal of experience with PPAP from previous projects, attained a very efficient sampling procedure which met with the customer’s complete satisfaction. Considerable parts of the PPAP were automated and the reasonableness and completeness checks were systematised in such a way that the PPAP costs were reduced by 75%.
