Implementation of PAA (Parts Average Testing)

The situation:
To improve the quality in the manufacturing of electronics, particularly in relation to consumer complaints, the OEM asked our customers to introduce Part Average Testing (PAA), a method to statistically identify abnormal components and feed them to additional test to avoid customer risks.

The solution:
Together with customer experts the PMC Consultant developed the PAA-test concept, defined all necessary adjustments needed in the running production and designed the additional test program. After assessing the risks the consultant was in charge for the implementation, finishing with the process approval and release by the OEM.

The result:
With PAA the customer was enabled to identify specific hidden damages of electronic parts, especially semiconductor elements, which lead to a reduction of failures at the OEM and its final users. The technical expertise and the methodical project management of the consultant ensured a smooth implementation without disrupting ongoing production.
